As the Homeopathy admits a vital energy that in health state, remains every party of the organism in perfect harmony (§ 9 ), denies the life without it (§ 10) and ascribe the disease to the change of this vital energy; this causal agents in part psychic and in part physical (causa ocasionallis, in this case, the malocclusion unchaining the dysfunction of TMJs ) it does not own the power of affecting, unconditionally the man’s health, but only make sick the organisms predispose and susceptible, and so does not produce disease neither all and nor always (§ 31).
Fifty-six students of Dentistry Course, who belong to the Trainee Group in the Dentistry Help for the Poor, which takes place on Saturdays in Jabaquara, were observed.
This group was chosen due to its homogeneity in age, cultural and social levels, buccal conditions, cooperation, etc. This focused on the decrease of variables, and only those pertinent to the job remained, such as placebo x medicament ; normal x pathological.
Data was collected in tables and charts, statistically analyzed, and the following conclusions were reached.
The conclusion was that :
1. The T.M.J. dysfunction picture depends on the presence of susceptibility and not only on the presence of Causa ocasionallis as traditional gnathological school predicts.
2. The homeopathic medication decreases this susceptibility creating the symptomatological absence, even in the presence of Causa ocasionallis
